DOTAPA Well Established Transfection Reagent for Mammalian CellsProduct descriptionBiontex offers the well-established transfection reagent DOTAP as a ready-to-use solution. DOTAP is a liposome formulation of a monocationic lipid N-[1-(2,3-Dioleoyloxy)]-N,N,N-trimethylammonium propane methylsulfate in sterile water (concentration 1 mg/ml). Many experiments with this reagent (in vitro & in vivo) are described in the scientific literature. It combines reliability and efficiency with low costs. If stored at 4°C it is stable for at least 12 months. Depending on the cell line, 1 ml of DOTAP is sufficient for 50-100 transfections on 35 mm dishes (6-well plates).
DOTAP transfects DNA including yeast artificial chromosomes (YACs) both in the presence and absence of serum for transient and stable gene expression. DOTAP is additionally suitable for transfection of oligonucleotides, RNA, nucleotides, riboprotein complexes and proteins. In most cases serum containing transfection conditions result in higher transfection efficiency. Highlights of DOTAP
