Description: Ferritin protein consists of 24 protein units, these are both light and heavy type with MW of 19 kDa and 21 kDa respectively. Each Ferritin complex (MW 474 kDa) can store 4500 iron ions. Serum Ferritin levels are measured as part of the iron studies work up for anemic and for restless leg syndrome. Ferritin can be elevated during periods of acute malnourishment. This antibody reacts with human Ferritin.

 Buffer: Protein A purified total immunoglobulin IgG  in10 mM PO4, 150 mM NaCl, pH 7.4, 1% BSA,  0.05% sodium azide.

Application: Immunohistochemistry (IHC) 1:50-1:100 using polymer or streptavidin-biotin system. For formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections and cell smears better staining is observed when antigen retrieval is used (boiling the tissue in 10 mM citrate, pH 6.0 for 10-15 minutes, followed by cooling for 10-15 minutes).

The optimum dilution should be determined by the individual lab.

NOTE: DAB chromogen gives brown color; therefore care should be taken, running proper negative control and interpretation of results.

MSDS: This product contains 0.05 % sodium azide as a preservative, appropriate care should be taken in handling. National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health has warning that sodium azide can react with lead, copper, brass or solder in the pluming system and forms  hydrazoic acid  in acidic condition. Discard with copious amount of water. Avoid skin and eye contact with all laboratory products. Use appropriate lab. gear, lab coat , gloves and  safety glasses. Do not ingest any lab. products.
