A new method of delivering proteins into living cells

 

Protein delivery into living cells is an alternative to nucleic acid transfection, and a strong strategy for functional studies and therapeutic approaches.


Now Biontex presents PROTEOfectene™ and PROTEOfectene™ AB, two revolutionary new reagents that open up this field of research.

These innovative new reagents open up new research possibilities in the growing field of  proteomics, to perform research into complex molecular mechanisms or develop potential new treatments. For example, intra-cellular transport of the protein responsible for apoptosis can help in research into programmed cell death mechanisms and resistance to drugs. 

Both PROTEOfectene™ and PROTEOfectene™ AB are lipid-based formulas that form non-covalent complexes with proteins and antibodies respectively. These complexes can be absorbed through cells and released into the cytoplasma. The structure and function of the proteins or antibodies delivered into the cells remain absolutely unchanged.
